I guess this game is a form of shooter-builder with lootboxes. Run dungeons and encounters to gather loot and make better gear. Repeat. Layouts all look the same, and don't require strategy. The vast majority of the game can be done in automatic mode. The other aspect I found lacking was Multi-player. You get bonuses for being in a clan, but there's no real team play or reason to interact. No team play and lack of variety made me quickly bored.
This game is exceptional! I'm surprised more people haven't discovered this... The dungeons are a reasonable size, perfect for a short gaming session. Progression is unhindered by paywalls, the only thing I paid for is cosmetic stuff that does not change the challenge level. the fighting is fast-paced and truly dependent on your skill. Fantastic work guys! More mobile games should be like this :)
I've compared Shadowblood vs. its closest competitor, Darkness Rises. Both are very similar in gameplay mechanics and style, but I believe Darkness Rising has more to offer. It has better graphics and character customization options. During the course of regular gameplay, in Darkness Rising, you may acquire tickets to customize your character's appearance. In Shadowblood, you have to purchase tickets with real money. You cannot acquire them during gameplay.
This is one of the best mobile games I've seen. It has diverse classes with interesting gameplay. The auto battle option is there but I haven't used it, the battles are fun to do yourself. But I do think the game can be better. The normal attacks are pretty much useless, you can fire off your skills constantly, as soon as you're done with one another gets off cooldown. I think a system where you need to use your regular attack in order to gain enough points for the skills would feel better.
