Pay for your public transport tickets online via PayPal, SEPA direct debit or credit card and save 7% compared to buying them at a ticket machine or on the bus. Weekly and monthly tickets and the Hamburg CARD are excluded. The displayed price of the ticket already includes the discount.

You know where to go? We'll show you when to go! The hvv app shows you the departures of all lines at the stops in your area. Just swipe down on the home screen of the app and find out about current departures. This way, you can easily see when you have to hop on and save yourself the search for connections. Enable your contacts in the app and select your destination in the route planner directly from your address book. Share your connection if needed or add it to your calendar.
TRAVEL INFO & DISRUPTION MESSAGES⚠️
Always stay up to date. All messages for your favourite lines are clearly displayed under "Messages". In addition, you can create alarms for lines, weekdays and time periods and be warned of disruptions via push messages. it would be good if they had another app that was real time that you could use to plane trips, buses are often very late and google map doesn't keep up with the late schedules to avoid delays. Bergen Norway as a good app that does this. also the app would not accept my foreign bank card and I had to create a PayPal account with the same card to pay for my ticket.
I think it deserves 4 stars because it tells spot on when the busses are coming and helps me not only to be on time but shows me divers and easier ways to reach my destination. it also tell me when the busses are striking and other up to date news. why it isn't 5 stars is because, at random times when im checking for destinations the satellites randomly drop and it doesn't work until a few minutes later.
Worst public transport app I've ever used. UX is abysmal, for example: I could not pay, error message was that personal data is missing. Opening personal data, I had to edit each field to finally find out that dob was incorrect. Very basic stuff.
I keep having problems with the app while the old one was working fine. The search takes 1min to give any result. The payment takes even longer and doesn't go through. Happens once that I bought 2 tickets because the 1st one appeared in the app after 3min... and no success or error message. You need to wait to know what happened. It also doesn't save your preferences. So everyone I need to find for the starting point and switch again the type of ticket I want...
