Great app with plenty of controls that would be five stars but it's very annoying to open the app and have to see a "featured podcast" pop up. I want to go straight to my content especially as a paying customer. Their support team says this is a feature for free or paid customers. Get rid of it or at least give us the option to turn it off!! I've had the app for over a year and this is a stupid "feature" they added recently.
I've been using the free version for years with only minor issues, but recently it started pausing every time the ad at the top refreshes & playing 2-3 seconds of really fast talking (like at the end of some ads, only sped up so much I can't understand it). I have to unlock my phone and manually restart. It's super random, sometimes multiple times in a minute, other times I get maybe 10-15 minutes. Sent a message, no reply yet. Might be time to find a new app. 🫤
The latest update seems to have come with some bugs. In the last 3 hours the player stopped playing the selected podcast 7 times. I had to disable the play store because the player app would automatically open the play store every few minutes. Very annoying. Used to be great. I'll be looking for an alternative. Just a few months ago I'd have given this 5 stars.
An app that plays podcasts. I switched to Player FM a while back when another famous app lost its free tier. The thing that Impressed me was the customer service. If I ever had an issue, I would send off an email and get a response by the next day. Impressed so much I paid for the upgrade. An app that plays podcasts. The way you want, no matter how simple or complicated you want. And backs it up with great customer service.
