I'm loving this game! The storyline is engaging & good for mental health, the graphics are stunning, and the mechanics are simple at first and gradually become more complicated. (I'm not a strategist, but the Reddit community is super helpful.) Time travel has always fascinated me, so that's a major hook. But they also have all these side stories you can play, including collabs with other games (like Chrono Trigger and FFIX - though some content is expiring soon). So much fun - plus cats!!
I only played this every once in a while, mostly for the ChronoCross crossover which i haven't got to yet. so far it's an alright game, but the worst part is that everytime I open the game there an update that takes 30 minutes to an hour, even after the initial install that took 6 hours. when I usually only plan on playing for an hour, I waste all that time waiting for the update and just dont even play the game. most games install updates in less than a minute, need to figure out a better way
As a Chrono Cross fan, I was curious to see the latest opus from the same writer. It's a pure joy to play, the story really starts gaining momentum after a few chapters and when you complete chapter 13 completely explode in possibilities with character quests, episodes and more. I love that you can expand the universe with different stories written with a lot of humour and humanity. It took me longer to get into the battle system which felt too easy at first but comes into its own.
Updating this review. I have been playing this games since it first came out. Now the develops push players to purchase in order to get higher level characters. You used to be able to obtain a character of 5 star every other month. The story are pretty good. I love the cross overs. As you get deeper in the game they give you less cronos Stones which make obtaining new Characters difficult. I feel sad because I used to really love this game. Now I might go back to Genshin Impact.
