This game is pretty good. It is not pay to win by any means. You have the option to pay and advance faster but you don't have to at all. The thing that annoys me is some of controls are a little annoying. The best example is upgrading walls. If you have 100 walls you have to upgrade them each individually... It gets really annoying instead of having an option to upgrade a row or group of them. Overall for a free game, it is pretty solid. I like it alot. They also update the game a lot 👍
I would have given it five stars but i found out to my horror that once units are deployed, you cannot contol them, they attack under their own direction, often stupidly and wastefully, and after being a lifelong rts fan, it was infuriating to find that i cant control attacks. Thats just stupid fcs. Love the graphics tho. Another issue i feel is that with this much attention to detail, why not add at least one other playable race and civilization? I prefer more variety. Also, Expensive.
It's a fun game, just very unbalanced. Enemy bases of very low levels can have very op troops in their Squad centers. It really only takes one Raven or Berserker to wipe out your entire army. Base layouts don't even matter if you have these types of troops donated to your base. So good luck trying to get loot quick to upgrade, because any base with reasonable loot has these over powered units. You will end up retreating over and over till you find a base without these units defending it.
While addictive, it's buggy about how long you've been logged in. It will force you to stop playing to give other players a chance to attack your base, with no forewarning, even if you have spent virtual currency to have buffs active. EDIT IN RESPONSE TO SUPPORT: I submitted a support request prior to leaving this review. The game tracks the time that you play, and after a cumulative 4 hours it forces a 35 minute break in which you can be attacked. The response from support was that it was an anti-cheat mechanism, however it locks you out of attacking even when you have limited use buffs active. Do yourself a favor, do not subscribe to the VIP.
