I've been playing Gems of War for around a year now. In my opinion this is the best phone game I have ever played. :-) I play it daily and haven't gotten tired of it. They are always adding new challenges, also giving you challenges to use troops you wouldn't probably otherwise choose, which is pretty cool. There's so many good things about this game. :-) Edit: The game isn't what it used to be! It's Pay to Play now! Too hard to get good cards or high level anything! I'm so disappointed!
Fantastic game when you are in the actual gameplay. I love it and will continue to play. There's not much of a story, but it's fun enough. But the absurdly messy and confusing user interface and the ridiculous number of different currencies and resources with no easy way to understand how to get them or exchange, or even know how to spend them, takes away a star each. Still one of the best games to ever grace the garbage pile that is the Play Store.
i used to love this game. had almost everything unlocked. but not only could i not retrieve my game with all my progress, but this new update is frustratingly hard way too early in the game. almost as if the developers expect you to buy the expensive add-ons to help your progress. Enemies have ridiculous abilities by only the 3rd land that i unlocked. sucked all the fun out of one of my favorite games. not all changes are good ones.
the grind is real. I used to have everything unlocked like delves and high lvl cards. I started playing again and was surprised how hard everything seemed. At about lvl 28 I'm back into the game and find it less frustrating. I think some players may be tempted to buy cards to progress early on but it is not needed.
