Hardly anyone knows that you grew up as the sidekick to your mother, the famed hero known as The Cloak, keeping your gritty metropolis safe from the world's worst villains. Some of your classmates are grappling with a legacy of power, too: Paragon's father is the mighty hero Brilliant, and Red Claw's mother is the villain Destroya. Each of you must choose what kind of hero you want to be. Do you want to be like your heroic parents, or do you want to blaze your own trail?
The choices just keep getting harder when it becomes clear that there's more than your average supervillainy going on. Who keeps breaking into Evos Academy's supposedly ultra-secure campus, and why? Surprised me in a great way. Usually not the biggest fan of superhero stories, but this one is unique and captivating. Has a lot of characters, but theyre unique and different enough that it's easy to remember who is whom. There's also an optional mode to know which stat is being tested, which really helps so you don't auto-fail something because you think it's testing athletics when it's actually testing fighting; I wish every CYOA game had this option. Overall, this one is a lot of fun.
I believe you guys have knocked it out of the park here. There are a few confusing moments, but overall, it's a great story. It's so much fun that I'll be trying out a new power pretty soon, I'm going to try for elemental. I do wish there was a little bit more nuance between reckless and composed, as some moments appear to blur the lines a bit. While I assume that is intended, I think a little more clarity around those areas would improve the overall experience.
Wonderful, but I don't like the part of auto- success at all. Anyways it is very cool
While many of these story games tend to be somewhat juvenile in nature and lacking in literary quality, this is an exception as in exceptional. 💯 It was a refreshing experience being able to equally enjoy the read, as well as the gameplay. Making something like this feel realistic is always a tough ask, but the author nailed it. If nothing else, takeaway this: the author can truly write. Where other authors in this genre depend on topic appeal or brainless fun, this one could sell books IRL
