About this app
Fill empty squares so each block sums up to the number on its left or on its top. Each puzzle consists of a blank grid with sum-clues in various places. The object is to fill all empty squares using numbers 1 to 9 so the sum of each horizontal block equals the clue on its left, and the sum of each vertical block equals the clue on its top. In addition, no number may be used in the same block more than once.
Kakuro are addictive logic puzzles best described as number-crosswords. Using pure logic and simple add/subtract calculations, these fascinating puzzles offer endless fun and intellectual entertainment to puzzle fans of all skills and ages.
The game includes zoom for easier solving of large puzzles, as well as helpful features such as showing possible sum combinations in a block, showing the sum remainder of a block, and using pencilmarks to make temporary placement of numbers in the grid.
To help see the puzzle progress, graphic previews in the puzzle list show the progress of all puzzles in a volume as they are being solved. A Gallery view option provides these previews in a larger format.
For more fun, Kakuro contains no ads and includes a Weekly Bonus section providing an extra free puzzle each week.

Excellent user interface. Updated 3 yrs later (June 2026). Best designed Android game I have ever used and only one I pay to use. I can only solve medium puzzles, and buy a new set once every couple of months. A new fr÷e puzzle once a week. NO ADS. Love the timer, pencil marks (auto and user supplied), hints and everything else about this perfect game.
Its setup is like kakuro books I've bought in the past. No ads come in to interrupt. It's easy to get to see the possible numbers needed to get the total, but it's optional; therefore I was able to choose the clues I wanted. It's a good way to keep math skills sharpened! 😊 The challenging Kakuro puzzles are easier to do in part, then continue at a later time. For me, this is good - I'm less tempted to work on them non-stop! 🤪😂
Many of the hard puzzles can only be solved by brute forcing it with a computer. These puzzles should have never made it into the game and should have been easy to flag if they were tested and reviewed beforehand. Edit: Since the devs responded by saying im wrong; the hard starter puzzles 13-18, 25-30, and 33 are impossible to solve. The game's own hint system says the only option is to brute force them. 33 for example takes more than 1 brute force attempt in the very last section to solve.
Dev(s) did a great job. Plays flawlessly. I like Sudoku too, and do those regularly - but this makes you think in a different way. You have to concentrate more on simple math and a little less on patterns. You can make a mistake and still run it all the way to the end before you discover it. By then it can be difficult to find. Fun mind exercise for your brain game arsenal
