Compulsory subscription, no lifetime option. In a day and age where everything seems to be by subscription I have a strict policy of not using any service that is by subscription. I don't mind paying an upfront fee for a good app but I will not subscribe to anything. Once I purchase something I want to own it without any recurring cost. If you offer a one-time fee for unlimited use I will become your customer.
We wanted to just try it for a few months but had to pay for a year. Now I know why. We had a lot of problems and couldn't wait to get rid of it. It would block normal phone functions like settings even though I allowed it. The only help was an Ai and it was useless. Now that we have removed it, my kids' phones are running normal again. As I was trying to remove the app, it charged my card for another year without notifying me. So now I had to dispute the charge. I would NOT recommend.
If I could give it zero rating I would. Had to get new bank card and forgot to update info for app to purchase monthly. Now you can't even do it anymore it's either a yearly subscription for $54 or $79 I guess for a lifetime. If app didn't have so many issues I'd do it but when the GPS jumps around so much when child is next to me it's an issue.
I subscribed to the family plan (most expensive one). My kid's phone keeps removing the protection spontaneously twice a day. Imagine 'setting' everything up twice a day after having paid a hefty fee. What a useless app, not worth paying when even the basics don't work. I am waiting for a full refund within 24 hours of signing up. Stay away!
