Set up freezes until you pay for a subscription. I do want the service and wanted to pay but I made the mistake of putting this on my child's phone which prohibits all purchases. But I could not log out of the app to switch email and I can't login from a different device using his email. I also don't know if the subscription works with the other apps from this org. A giant payment window demands money but there's is no information at all about what it is you are actually paying for.
Before discovering Otsimo AAC | Tap and Talk, communication with my child felt like a daily uphill battle, full of frustration on both sides. Within just a few weeks of using this app, the difference has been nothing short of remarkable. From the moment we downloaded it, setup was surprisingly straightforward. The onboarding walks you through everything step by step, and you don't need to be tech-savvy to get it running. I highly recommend it.
We've been using this app for about 3 months now with our 5 year old son who has autism, and it's honestly been such a meaningful part of our daily life. He isn't able to read yet, but the pictures make it so much easier for him to communicate with us. the first time he used it to ask for " more cookie" it really touched us it felt like a breakthrough moment. Since then we've seen him become more confident and even start picking up new words. We are truly grateful we come across this app.
I'm not great with apps but I managed to set this up and add some custom words, pretty easy to do once you know what you're doing 😆 My son has been using it every day since and I can actually follow along without getting confused.
