About This App
Heck Deck is a bullet hell card game where all the bullets are cards and time only progresses as you move. Explore 5 stages full of unique enemies and bosses, discover dozens of cards, and visit shops to buy and sell cards for health!
Throughout 5 different stages, Heck Deck will challenge your precision and dexterity during the bullet hell phases and your strategy when using your cards. Each card you pick up will cost you at least one life point, so you will have to be careful about which ones you pick on your way.
The abstract and minimalist world of Heck Deck is created with a cute hand-drawn art style. Each level of the game has its own universe, its own music, its own set of enemies, and of course, its own boss.

I don't like this game very much, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it however. It is very unique in its own aspect with its gameplay, but I am not fond of the gameplay. It just feels like it moves too slow especially with the wonky turning (although I'll assume that's part of making the game challenging). I also don't like the inability to get offensive cards without taking damage, so it's like huh? I feel like the trade between healing and getting offensive cards is too slow of a process.
Alright game, has a fair amount of content, and is engaging enough to play several times over. There is a barrier for entry that eases in over the first level, ramping up afterward. It could do with further informative text on how certain mechanics work, especially the unlockable players. Suffers from optimization issues, as when several projectiles are spawned, it causes the game to freeze temporarily. The app also eats through battery life while not looking like much is happening.
Unique and fun! Very well designed. Proof that games can break the norms and be fun instead of frustrating. 4 stars cuz it's short - I beat it on like the 3rd or 4th run, and all that's left is completionist stuff. (Which normally I love, but not if it's just gonna be doing the same content repeatedly, grinding to randomly get new card drops. There's gotta be enough newness that each run feels specifically different)
Super creative and fun twist on card battle and bullet heck games. Took me a moment to warm up to the gameplay because it's a surprising combo, but once I got it, it became fun enough that I was literally giggling while I was playing. The artwork is also very cute and music and sound effects are just right. This one's a keeper for me.
