It's a great app. Pricey but it gets the job done well. I can also link YouTube videos, upload audio, video, etc. Although the Desktop App doesn't work right for logging in with Google, the Website works just fine. I have had issues with simple uploads not starting or registering files. Had to side step the issue by trying different tricks like sharing to the app itself rather than uploading from the choose a file feature. Other Transcriber apps have been ridiculously expensive.
I downloaded it hoping for real-time captions during a phone call. It does not seem to do that. I need captions because I cannot understand customer service reps from other countries. Also - when I activated the recording feature during a call, it did not detect any audio, which I discovered only after the call had ended and I was attempting to transcribe it. I also didn't understand all of the "permissions" steps that came up, although I did my best to allow everything necessary.
it only allows you to transcribe about 15 recordings. and also, be careful if you purchase the year's subscription. it shows what it's going to charge monthly but doesn't say that they're going to take all those payments at once if you choose the year subscription for the lower monthly payments. Edit for clarity: I have the one year subscription, not a trial offer.
It did not tell me that it was only free for up to 5 minutes until AFTER I had already been talking and transcribing for a long long time. after I set it to calculate out the transcription it only gave me 5 min worth and lock everything else behind a pay wall 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 ughhhhhhhh now I have to redo everything! (ON A DIFFERENT APP!) you guys are awful, seriously. If you have fees at least be honest about them and not lock people's content away
