It's a little repetitive, but it's also addictive. You never know what you'll discover on the next tile. Ads are optional, which is nice, compared to the forced ads in other games. Idle growth is decent too, so you get benefits whether you're actively playing or not. Anxious to see what additional content the developers come up with.
I've only been playing the game for less than a week, and I must say that the game is really engaging. My only gripe is that the amount of upgrades that require gems is high, and the free gem economy is so low, at least in the early game. Yes, you can easily progress without the premium upgrades, but it's still a little discouraging that they are so hard to earn without spending money. Otherwise, I think the game is great thus far.
Game is very slow and grindy. Requirements for a single level city upgrades can take literal weeks to get. Gem prices are astronomical. Still, I enjoy the game, chipping out a little bit at a time, finding pieces of the story, connecting new towns. My biggest complaint would be the build menu popping up in the middle of trying to clear tiles and accidentally building or destroying tiles, which can be a costly error.
I really enjoy this game. There are no force-watch ads at all, but there are extra-prize ads. It's quiet, there's no stress, play it when you want and leave it to idle when you can't or don't want to play. There are goals, but so far, there haven't been very many popups to buy extra things. This is a long-term game, something to whittle away time without feeling like it's wasted time, if you know what I mean.
