The app is so so incredibly laggy and slow 🙃 Update: Still incredibly useless. The app logs me out and I need to sign back in almost every time I use it. The search function isn't showing results for anything, and it's also not showing the books I have in my cart, or the ones I have saved for later. Why even bother releasing an app if it's ALWAYS reliably unreliable.? At this point it's more stable and reliable for me to use the b&n website on my phone rather than the app.
This slow, buggy app has one of the worst search and browse interfaces that I have seen in all of e-commerce. Search is fuzzy by default with no way to enable an actual keyword search or search only sale items. Results are cluttered with items that are unavailable in-store or online, with no apparent way to remove them. Filtering, sorting, and viewing options are all very limited. Customer service via chat is rude & unprofessional and would rather end the chat than admit an error and apologize.
I only downloaded this app because the website is literally unusable (won't even load most of the time). Unfortunately, the app isn't better. I want to upgrade my legacy membership, but get a server error when I try to log in. I searched "planner" and got ZERO results. I love the B&N store, but this is just ridiculous for a modern business.
After weeks of waiting, I finally have the new app. Right off the bat it asked me if I wanted customized ads, that's a really bad sign. Second, the order history is awful. It used to show you every single book you ordered on 1 screen and showed the release dates for preorders. Now the order history shows the date and 1 book with a plus sign forcing you to click into each order. However, it doesn't show the dates for preorders and there is not even a click through to go to the book to find out.
