Revisiting this game - still fun, and enough time has passed that I've forgotten the strategies. But it's a lot buggier than I remember: most annoying is that it crashes every few turns (losing all progress in that turn). It also cheats occasionally, allowing multiple enemy units to occupy one space, and allows enemies to board ferries from non-beach spaces. Would be more challenging if the AI had more, varied strategies at its disposal. Dropping 1 star for bugs.
Hands down my favorite mobile game ever. Inclusion of All Out War and Holiday from Hell make a great game even better. I had previously played these mission packs before they became unavailable and loved them.. Recently game stopped working in that when an enemy or neutral structure is captured, it does not change color. The game still functions properly, but it is difficult to keep track of structures without them being identified by color. If this were fixed the game would be perfect again.
As other reviewers have said, there's minor bugs now; however, the gameplay still holds up really well and the campaign is varied and engaging. I first played this in 2010 and it's still great! Devs, if you ever have chance, fixing the bases not changing colour issue would be great. Otherwise it occasionally crashes but that's ok since it loads so quickly on modern devices.
Reinstalled this because I really enjoyed it back in the day. It's still a great game, but marred by the bases not changing colour when captured. Makes it too challenging to keep track of when you don't know what's uncaptured, red, or blue. Had to uninstall.
