This game would be great if it worked offline. The first two games were beautiful and fun to play, so I purchased this one as soon as I finished the trial. Unfortunately, the full version of the game won't work without an internet connection, and if you try to open it offline, it acts as if you never paid. I was hoping to play this on the subway and during flights, but the unreasonable DRM makes it impossible.
As usual the graphics are quite beautiful, and the puzzles are fun and difficult. I really like the evolution of the game from 1 through 3 with all the different NPC interactions and the new ways of interacting with the environment, like the sail boats. Overall, I found it fun as well as slightly difficult. I also liked how it continued with the themes of the first two while adding on new dynamics.
Great series, terrible IAP DRM. I previously purchased monument valley 1 & 2, I was so looking forward to this being on Android, saw it when it first popped up on Xbox. however, the fact that this is not a standalone purchase is just terrible. I don't know about everybody else, but I can't stand in-app purchases that unlock games. If you want to give out a trial, do that make a trial version of the game, don't lock the game behind an in-app purchase. This is going to be a non-starter for me.
I've played their other two games in this series, and was stoked to see a third. The art style is soo beautiful in all of them. I wish there were more mobile games like these. The puzzles are fun to solve and the story is interesting to follow along with. Such a cozy, calming game. So worth the price- I can't sing their praises enough.
